Longtime Sooners' assistant coach to replace Mike White at Oregon, according to report

EUGENE, Ore. — According to a report from The Oklahoman newspaper, the University of Oregon has hired Melyssa Lombardi, a longtime assistant coach at the University of Oklahoma.

Lombardi will replace Mike White, who left the Ducks this past year to become the head coach at the University of Texas.

Lombardi was a pitching coach for the Oklahoma Sooners for the past 21 seasons, and she was named associate head coach in 2007. She also played at the University of Oklahoma from 1995-96.

During her tenure at the University of Oklahoma, Lombardi helped the Sooners to 12 Women's College World Series appearances, and four national titles.
