STILLWATER, Okla. – After breezing through the Fayetteville Regional in Arkansas, Oregon will be playing to extend its season Friday after dropping a Super Regional opener to No. 9 Oklahoma State, 8-1.

The Ducks managed to strike first in the game, tallying their lone run on an Alyssa Daniell single in the top of the second inning. After that RBI, Oregon struggled to get another player on base.

The Cowgirls jumped out to a 3-1 lead and didn't look back in the bottom of the fourth inning. Kiley Naomi got the action going with a solo home run to left field. Then in the fifth, Oklahoma State added another four runs thanks in part to a three-run home run by Morgyn Wynne.

After the game, Oregon Head Coach Melyssa Lombardi said the team struggled to play a clean game but remained confident in their ability.

"This is best two out of three," she said. "You know we want to get the first one; we didn't. But we still got two more games to go. And what I love about this team is that any time something that hasn't gone our way we've learned from it, grown from it and it's made us better and I know some things that has happened to us this game will take us into our next game. But I love this team; I love this fight. I think they do a really really good job of being able to let this go and be ready for tomorrow."
