USS Portland makes stop in its namesake city
PORTLAND, Ore. – The USS Portland arrived in its namesake city Saturday.
The Navy is letting the public tour the massive ship this week before its commissioning ceremony. The ship will officially join the Navy’s active fleet on Saturday, April 21.
But on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, the Navy will lead tour groups through the ship.
If you’re interested, visit Portland Marine Terminal 2 in Northwest Portland between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Tours will end a bit earlier on Friday, so get there before 4 p.m. if you’re visiting that day.
