ROSEBURG, Ore. – The Forest Service is holding a town hall meeting on Tuesday, February 13, in the Canyonville City Council Chambers at 250 N. Main Street in Canyonville.

While the event opens at 4 p.m. with an open house-style meeting, the town hall portion will begin at 5 p.m. The topic of the town hall is the hiring of the new Tiller District Ranger.

According to Umpqua Forest Supervisor Alice Carlton, there should be a new district ranger for the Tiller District in early May.

This town hall is an opportunity to hear from people about important issues or actions they’d like shared with the new ranger.

The meeting is also an opportunity for people to learn about restoration and post-fire activities on the Tiller Ranger District during the open house time from 4-5 p.m. and 6-7 p.m.
