SUTHERLIN, Ore. - An RV caught fire on Interstate 5 northbound Thursday morning, causing traffic to back up for miles.
A couple and several cats and dogs were in the RV at the time. They escaped injury, Oregon State Police said.
Drivers saw the RV catching fire as it drove around 10:45 a.m. and called 911, police said.
Flames engulfed the RV as crews from Sutherlin Fire and Fair Oaks Rural Fire District responded to the scene.
Traffic backed up for about 3 miles on I-5 behind the fire, police said.
