Thursday threat causes lock-down at Myrtle Creek school
MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. -- A threat at a Douglas County school Thursday was deemed not credible following an investigation, Myrtle Creek Police Department reports.
Around 9:40 a.m. Thursday, Myrtle Creek police were called to Coffenberry Middle School for a reported threat.
It was discovered that someone had written a threat regarding a school shooting in a bathroom, police said.
The school was placed on lock-down and an extensive search of the building was conducted.
After police and school officials determined there was no credible threat, the lock-down was lifted.
Police interviewed numerous students and the investigation is continuing Friday, MCPD said in a morning news release.
