PORTLAND, Ore. – Terri Moulton Horman, the former stepmom of a Portland boy who disappeared more than 6 years ago, was charged with stealing a handgun in California.

Moulton was the last person to see 7-year-old Kyron on June 4, 2010 at Skyline Elementary School in Northwest Portland. Kyron was at a pre-class science fair, where he was photographed, but then disappeared.

She now goes by Terri Lynn Moulton and moved to California late last year. Moulton is accused of taking a handgun from her roommate in Marysville, Calif. back in November 2015.

Our sister-station in Sacramento confirmed that Moulton was charged with grand theft of a firearm. Officers said she had the stolen gun on her when she was interviewed.

Police issued a warrant for her arrest when she missed her arraignment on the charge.

She was booked into the Yuba County Jail under the name Terry Moulton on July 4. 2016. She has a hearing in the case scheduled for December 16.

Moulton was interviewed on the Dr. Phil show in September (where she went by Terri Horman) following her exclusive first interview since Kyron's disappearance on Good Morning America.

She has never been named a suspect or a person of interest in the case. The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office says it is an ongoing investigation.
