ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The mission of an organization in Douglas County is to make sure every child has a bed to sleep in.

Now, they're asking for help to make it happen.

The Umpqua Valley chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace is holding its Bed Build event this weekend.

With the help of volunteers, they plan to build 20 bunk beds for area kids who don't have a bed.

You don't need experience to help out.

"We'll teach you how to run a chop saw, a drill, a palm sander, dip the headboards into vinegar and stain them, and in the end we brand them," says James P. Wilson with Sleep in Heavenly Peace’s Umpqua Chapter.

The Bed Build event is this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at MANcrafts facility in Roseburg.
