Search underway armed and dangerous suspect in Josephine County


At approximately 2:00 p.m. officers with Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to a report of a male suspect fighting a woman on the 300 block of Marion Ln.

Witnesses say they saw the male and female leaving in a silver Toyota truck. The woman was reported to have had blood on her and may have sustained injuries.

An officer spotted the truck in the Fruitdale area and attempted to perform a traffic stop. The driver identified as 34-year-old Caleb Pratt who refused to stop and a pursuit began.

GPDPS say Pratt began speeding at Grandview on Cloverlawn Dr. then eastbound on Fruitdale Dr. toward Rogue River Hwy. The pursuit was ended shortly after officers saw school buses in the area.

Josephine County Sheriff's Office deputies searched the side streets along Rogue River Hwy toward Rogue River.

JCSO received a report from a resident who saw the silver truck driving erratically on Greens Creek Rd and was able to point the driveway the truck was last seen.

When the deputy arrived at the location he reported hearing a gunshot.

Additional units responded from GPSP, JCSO, and OSP responded to the scene.

The truck was located and seized.

A search of the area was conducted, but it is believed the two ran away toward the wooded areas of Greens Creek Rd.

Pratt is considered armed and dangerous. The woman is described to be white with blond hair.
