Roseburg VA calls newly released data misleading
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- New data released by USA Today and the Boston Globe shows residents at more than two-thirds of VA nursing homes last year were more likely to have bed sores and other pain when compared to private nursing homes.
The Roseburg VA is one of four facilities that rated below nursing homes on 10 of 11 indicators, with twice as many residents given anti-psychotic drugs.
We asked the Roseburg VA for comment.
They said the article is "misleading because that particular metric is based largely on ratings such as pain,” adding the VA "scores lower than the private sector because the department on average cares for sicker patients."
