MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. -- On Friday, May 18, Myrtle Creek Police began an investigation into a Facebook conversation between a 32-year-old Winston man and a 14-year-old female.
Police say during the conversation the man, identified as Nathan Sheridan, agreed to meet the girl for sexual contact.
"Sheridan used graphic detail in the messages to describe the sexual activity they would engage in," Myrtle Creek Police said in a statement. "Sheridan also told the girl he would bring a phone to record the sexual activity. The entire conversation spanned just 5 hours."
Police say when Sheridan arrived at the pre-arranged meeting place, he was met by Myrtle Creek Police instead.
He was taken into custody and lodged at the Douglas County Jail on charges of First Degree Online Sexual Corruption of a Child, Luring a Minor, Attempted Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct and a Felony Probation Violation.
