Police: Roseburg man punches sister in the mouth, tased after resisting arrest

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg man was arrested Friday after police say he assaulted his sister and brother-in-law.

According to a Roseburg Police Department report, 22-year-old Alek Joel Caporale attacked his brother-in-law and sister at their Roseburg apartment.

During the fight, Caporale reportedly punched his sister in the mouth, causing a large gash in her upper lip, police said.

He then fought with his brother-in-law before fleeing the apartment on foot, the report said.

A Douglas County Sheriff's deputy located Caporale and attempted to take him into custody.

Police say he resisted arrest and was tased.

Caporale was also on parole and his parole officer placed a detainer on him, police said.

He was arrested and charged with fourth degree assault, harassment, resisting arrest, and parole violation.

Caporale was lodged at the Douglas County Jail.
