Police: Roseburg man arrested on fraud charges, including identity theft

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg man was arrested Monday on fraud charges, police report.

According to a Roseburg Police Department report, 21-year-old Charles Elroy Brabender "allegedly stole a victim’s debit card out of her vehicle that was parked at the Oakridge Apartments."

Brabender allegedly used the debit card at Walmart and attempted to use it twice more at Walmart, police said, but the last two transactions were declined.

He was taken into custody and charged with unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, second degree theft, three counts of computer crime, three counts of identity theft, and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Brabender was lodged at the Douglas County Jail.
