Police: Roseburg man arrested for kicking, striking car, breaking windshield

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg man was arrested for menacing and disorderly conduct Monday, police said.

According to a Roseburg Police Department report, Gene and Hope Dir were involved in a domestic assault in which Gene kicked and struck Hope's car, breaking the windshield, followed by Hope hitting Gene's car with her own and culminating with Gene pulling a knife.

Police say Gene Dir, 29, was arrested, cited, and lodged on two counts of menacing and one of disorderly conduct. He was then served with his first warning of downtown exclusion.

Hope Dir has not been charged at this point, the police department said.

The incident took place Monday morning at SE Rose and Cass.
