WINSTON, Ore. -- The threat of a school shooting or bombing Tuesday morning prompted an investigation by police in Winston.

A written threat was found around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in a restroom at Riverbend Park.

The message said there would be a shooting or bombing at one of the Winston schools at 10 a.m.

Schools in the area were put on lockdown while police took steps to ensure their safety.

"Because of the great unknown, we try to put an officer at the school,” Winston Police Chief Scott Gugel said Tuesday afternoon, “and keep them there at least beyond when the estimated report was that things were going to happen."

As of right now, police have no suspects in relation to the threat.

The investigation is ongoing.
