Oregon Only: Sutherlin works to bring new tourist attraction to town
SUTHERLIN, Ore. -- The City of Sutherlin could see a new tourist attraction in the near future.
A development team is moving forward with a 90-acre resort project called Oregon Only.
Some of the project's features include a hotel, convention center and amusement park.
The project could boost the local economy "from the schools, to small businesses, to our downtown that we're just rebuilding," says Sutherlin City Manager Jerry Gillham.
Project leaders say the resort would cost about $68 million and would bring in hundreds of jobs to the area.
They expect the resort to open in 2021.
