GRANTS PASS, Ore. -- Wednesday night just before 10:30 p.m., officers from Grants Pass Department of Public Safety heard an explosion near the Grants Pass Parkway Public Safety Station near Baker Park. There were reports of an unidentified man who was left with severe burns.
In a recent update from GPDPS, detectives have declared that man dead after he was transported to the Three Rivers Medical Center. The deceased has now been identified as Kirt Morrill. Morrill was critically burned as a result of the explosion and fire on Wednesday.
GPDPS is now attempting to locate a female, Kellie Parker, associated with Morrill to check on her welfare. While she is known to Morrill, she was not seen or contacted on the day of the fire and explosion. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Parker, they are asked to call the Grants pass Department of Public Safety at 541-450-6260.
The cause of the fire and subsequent explosion is still under investigation by the GPDPS.
