'Not just veterans but the fallen, first responders. That's what this ride is all about'
EUGENE, Ore. - Tuesday is the 17th anniversary of the attacks that took place on September 11th in 2001, and people reflect on the lives that we lost and touched forever.
Here in Eugene, local bikers honored those fallen with a symbolic ride to Salem. At the Eugene/Springfield Fire Training Facility, those who rose are now hosting a barbecue for the first responders and the military.
Whether it was law enforcers or veterans making the ride to Salem, everyone showed their respect and appreciation for those affected by September 11th.
This is the 2nd annual ride and BBQ, and this year they had more than double the number of people involved. Now they're planning on continuing this tradition every year and making it bigger and better.
For now, people are coming together over a dinner to show their thanks for everyone who serves our country.
