MLK Service Day River Cleanup takes place Monday at Stewart Park
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The United Communities Action Network (UCAN) program asked its AmeriCorps Service members to organize a volunteer river cleanup event.
The second annual MLK Service Day River Cleanup takes place on Monday, January 15, from 10 a.m. to 3p.m. at the Stewart Park pavilion, located at 1700 W Stewart Park Dr. in Roseburg.
Volunteers will receive trash bags and supplies and instructions regarding where they can help.
Organizers ask that you bring food, water, and weather-appropriate clothing, along with a smile.
They also thank event partners the City of Roseburg Parks & Rec. Dept., Roseburg Disposal, Douglas County Public Works, United Communities Action Network, and SOLVE Oregon.
Many volunteers are from Douglas County Juvenile Detention, Casa de Belen, Wolf Creek Job Corps, Source One Serenity, and Blue Zones Project.
