Mercy and Costco present 4th Annual Safety Day for Kids this Saturday

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- CHI Mercy Health Mercy Medical Center’s ER and Trauma Department and Costco Wholesale have partnered together again with local community medical providers to present the 4th Annual Safety Day for Kids on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Costco’s Parking Lot.

This year’s Safety Day will feature a Haz-Mat truck, fire truck, marine patrol boat, ambulance, life-flight helicopter, forest fire truck, K-9 unit, an interactive dental learning lab, 9-1-1 dispatch services, Douglas County Safety Coalition car seat checks, Oregon state police, Wildlife Safari, educational stations and activities.

“We are so excited to continue our collaboration with Costco and our community emergency services and other medical teams to bring safety tips to families during summer time,” said Bubba Petty, Mercy’s Trauma Team Coordinator. “Keeping our local children healthy and safe is important to Mercy and our Douglas County partners and we are here to help in any way we can. This is a great opportunity for us to share safety knowledge in a family-friendly environment.”

The event is free for all ages and supported by 911 Communications, Bay Cities Ambulance, the City of Roseburg Fire and Police, DFPA, Douglas County Safety Coalition, Douglas County Sheriff, Douglas ESD, Dynamic Martial Arts, Evergreen Family Medicine, Healthy Kids Outreach Program, Joe’s Towing, The News Review, Operation Lifesaver, The Optimist Club, Oregon State Police, REACH Air, ServPro of Douglas County, UCAN Head Start/Early Head Start, Umpqua Community Health Center, Umpqua Strong, UP2USNow Child Abuse Prevention, Wildlife Safari, and Youth for Christ.
