ROSEBURG, Ore. – Douglas County Public Works Department in conjunction with Avista Utilities will be reducing traffic to one lane during the day while Avista performs utility relocation work on Hwy 99 between Pleasant Street and the Winchester Bridge in Winchester.
The project began Monday, September 24 , and is projected to continue through the middle of October.
Avista and their contractors will conduct utility relocation work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., depending upon weather and materials availability.
During the relocation work, traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Avista Utilities and their contractors will be responsible for all traffic control and construction warning signs to notify the traveling public of the lane reduction.
"Safety is always a priority for the traveling public and we are asking motorists to use caution as they travel in the area, expect delays and to seek alternate routes whenever possible," the County said in a news release. "Please follow and obey all posted signs, warnings and flagging instructions."
