Gas station owner worries stolen hose will lead to gas siphoning thefts

The surveillance video from the Elkton gas station shows two people in a white BMW pull up just before 5 a.m. last Sunday.

ELKTON, Ore. - A business owner says security cameras caught two people stealing a water hose early one morning - and she worries the duo might be out to siphon gas from vehicles.

The surveillance video from the Elkton gas station shows two people in a white BMW pull up just before 5 a.m. last Sunday.

A man goes toward the water hose and takes part of it back to the vehicle.

The gas station owner says she couldn't believe it when she saw the video.

"I was mad!" said Debra Marx. "Actually, we have surveillance. It's out there. But it's more just because somebody came on here and brazenly took someone else's property."

Marx put the video on the gas station's Facebook page.

It had about 7,000 views and 200 shares as of Friday.

Marx said she is thankful for the community's help trying to find the culprits - and prevent any further crimes.
