Future Farmers of America program returns to Lane County Fair after long absence
EUGENE, Ore.- Future farmers of America has made a re-appearance at the Lane County Fair after being gone for nearly a decade.
The program was dropped due to budget cuts several years ago.
Now its back in three schools, with more than a dozen kids participating in the fair.
The program gives students an opportunity to learn a variety of agricultural skills.
“This has given me a great view, to show that if I want to be working with cows and horses for the rest of my life this pushed it. And I love it and I want to keep doing it, I love it I can do it for the rest of my life,” said Braden Williamson, a member of Pleasant Hill Highschool FFA.
The participants in the program will be selling their animals in the next two days.
