ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Douglas County Fire District No.2 firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at 115 Berry Loop Ln. in Green reported just after midnight Friday morning (Aug. 17, 2018).

Firefighters arrived to find a single-wide mobile home with fire and heavy smoke coming from the back side of the structure.

Multiple neighbors were attempting to extinguish the fire with garden hoses, and they advised the fire crew that the home was unoccupied.

"The limited access made it difficult for the initial fire crew, but they finally made access through a neighbor’s fence," DCFD2 said in a news release.

Once access was made, the fire was knocked down and contained to the back of the structure.

The owner arrived and advised crews that he had not lived in the structure for several years, but had been using it for storage.

The fire was reported to 911 by multiple neighbors, and no injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation but appears to be accidental, officials said.

DCFD2 responded to this incident with 2 fire engines and 1 command unit. They were assisted by Winston Dillard Fire District, Calapooia Rural Fire District and Pacific Power and Light.
