ROSEBURG, Ore. - There are a few things more powerful than a mother's love.
A cat named Magma proved that when she saved her kittens from a wildfire.
Magma and her aptly named kittens - Lava, Ash, and Volcano - were saved from the Lava Fire in California.
Rescuers reached out to Saving Grace Pet Adoption in Roseburg to take the cats.
Saving Grace's vet says Magma went back and forth three times to save her kittens from the fire.
"Our doctor was able to look at the kitten's paws and she could see which ones mama had saved first," said Megan Gram, executive director at Saving Grace. "Mama's paws were burned all the way down to the tendons which is extremely painful. That's why it took a lot longer for her to heal up."
Magma and her kittens have permanent scarring on their ears from the burns.
All four cats are up for adoption.
They're all up for adoption now at Saving Grace in Roseburg.
Gram says they'd love to keep them together, but they realize it's a tall ask for someone to adopt four cats at once.
