LOWELL, Ore. - Someone stole three inflatable kayaks and other equipment from a secure parking lot at Lookout Point Dam earlier this month.

The Army Corps of Engineers says the equipment is valued at about $5,400.

Fish biologists discovered the kayaks missing from the Dexter Service Building below Lookout Point Dam in Lowell, Ore., on September 10.

"The area where the equipment is stored overnight and on weekends is behind a controlled access security gate," the Corps said in a statement. "The kayaks were likely removed using Dexter Lake and may have passed through one of the public-use areas around the lake."

The stolen equipment includes 2 blue and 1 dark green Aire Lynx inflatable kayaks; 3 paddles; a dry bag; and a pair of waders.
