Police: 18-year-old arrested after throwing items from Roseburg rooftops at cars, officers

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Medford man was arrested after police say he threw items off the top of area buildings, causing nearby damage and attempting to harm officers.

According to a Roseburg Police Department report, 18-year-old Kolton Zachary Kane was arrested on multiple charges after he threw items off the roof of businesses in the 800 block of SE Stephens. Police said one was the old Absolute Motor Sports building.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Kane damaged property and patrol vehicles, the report said.

Additionally, Kane threw bricks, sticks and other items at officers with the intention of harming them, police said.

Officers made it to the rooftop where Kane surrendered.

Roseburg Fire Department personnel used a ladder and bucket to transfer officers and the suspect back to ground level.

Kane was arrested and lodged at corrections, charged with second degree criminal trespass, second degree disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, reckless endangering, second degree attempted assault, and unlawful use of a weapon.
