Tom Selleck has resigned from the National Rifle Association's board of directors.
The former "Magnum, P.I." star is a longtime gun fan and collector and he has been involved with the NRA for years, but his work schedule doesn't allow him to put in the hours for the embattled organization.
"Tom Selleck has stepped down from the board of the NRA due to his work schedule," his publicist tells Reuters. "Mr. Selleck remains a member of the NRA."
The actor was re-elected to the board for a three-year term last year.
