Congress holding moment of silence to honor Capital Gazette victims

WASHINGTON (WJLA) - Congress will observe a moment of silence Wednesday to honor the five victims murdered during last month's Capital Gazette shooting in Annapolis, Maryland.
Rep. Anthony Brown, D-Md., said in a press release that he will lead the rest of the Maryland House Delegation in the respectful observance on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives some time between 1:45 and 2 p.m.
John McNamara, Rebecca Smith, Rob Hiaasen, Wendi Winters, and Gerald Fischman all died after a gunman attacked the Capital Gazette office June 28 in one of the worst attacks against journalists in America.
One week after the shooting, newsrooms around the world held a moment of silence at 2:33 p.m., the approximate time the attack started.
