UW Husky mascot 'Dubs' to retire after 2018 football season
SEATTLE - The University of Washington's real Husky mascot, Dubs, will retire after the 2018 football season, according to a message posted to it's Twitter account on Monday.
The message said Dubs first took the field at Husky Stadium nearly 10 years ago, following in the 'pawprints' of Denali, Redoubt, and his immediate predecessor, Spirit.
The message went on to say while Dubs, "will miss the thunderous cheers from his corner of Husky Stadium, I'm excited to spend more time with my family, frolicking in the fields of my own backyard."
UW has not yet named a replacement for Dubs.
