Crater High School head football coach resigns

MEDFORD, Ore. - Crater High School Head Football Coach John Beck has resigned from his coaching position.

Beck has been with Crater High's football program for 13 years, winning League Coach of the Year four times and four league titles.

Crater Athletic Director David Heard accepted his resignation on Feburary 9 and cited his many accomplishments.

“John’s most important achievement is his commitment to preparing kids for college—31 kids, over his 13 year career, signed to play college football,” Heard said.

Beck has said the move is so that he can spend more time with his family.

“I’ve committed myself to Crater football for the past 13 years and while I don’t regret a single minute of it, I’m looking forward to being able to support my own kids who are heavily involved in their own activities,” Beck said.
