Riley: 'My intentions are to stay at Oregon State'
CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Contrary to a report from CBSSports.com, Mike Riley said on Friday that he has not been contacted by Wisconsin about its vacant head coaching position.
"I haven't talked to anybody there," said Riley. "I don't know this for a fact, but as I understand it, there might have been a level of interest. It's way premature about any interview or offer, or anything. There's nothing there. It's just like I said, I'm not looking to do anything. I'm not interested in that."
While addressing the issue with the media, Riley said several times that he hopes to finish his coaching career in Corvallis.
"I cannot even imagine me, at this stage, leaving," said Riley. "I sit in my office and wonder about that, and I just really can't imagine that.
"I've got a great life, I got a great group of kids, I'm recruiting a great class. Not me, we are. And I've got a great staff, so we have a good life."
On Thursday night, a report on CBSSports.com indicated that Riley was going to interview for a head coaching job at Wisconsin sometime this week.
