MaxPreps ranks Sheldon football 71st nationally

EUGENE, Ore. -- It's been a little more than a month since Sheldon won the 6-A state title, but the Irish are still collecting awards.

Sheldon is one of 50 schools nation wide to be honored by MaxPreps.

The California based company was in Eugene Tuesday morning to recognize Sheldon's 14-0 season.

"We tell our kids all the time, that good things happen if you do things the right way," said head coach Lane Johnson. "Our kids do things the right way. Us going out on the football field and handling things the way we do is just a sign of doing things the right way."

MaxPreps ranked the Irish 71st out of more than 16,000 high school football teams across the country.
