Cover Oregon plans to open website Tuesday for agents, community partners

PORTLAND, Ore. - Cover Oregon's much maligned website is scheduled to take a step toward functionality on Tuesday when it releases new tools that it hopes will allow agents to sign up customers in one sitting.

"This added functionality will allow agents and community partners to get people enrolled," said Cover Oregon spokesman Michael Cox. "It's not going to be perfect for everyone because there will always be cases that are more complicated, but it should be a move forward."

Cox said that it will probably be Tuesday afternoon before they have a sense of whether things are working properly.

"Agents will need to create their accounts and sign into the system," he said.

While Cox said this is a big step, he cautions there is still a lot of work to do

"This should not be seen as a countdown to when we will release these same tools for the public," he said.
