OSP: Reward offered in killing of cow elk

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. -- Oregon State Police are on the hunt for the person or people responsible for illegally killing a cow elk Monday morning.

Fish & Wildlife Division troopers say that in the early Monday morning hours, someone shot and left the cow elk to waste in the Peel area near Cavitt Creek Road and Sampson Butte.

The location is about 15 miles southeast of Glide.

A reward of up to $500 is being offered by the Oregon Hunters Association T.I.P. Reward Program for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
