Craving sun? Run to the coast now, look forward to March 9

EUGENE, Ore. - Does the gloomy fog have you down?

The National Weather Service expects the inversion to shroud the Willamette Valley through the weekend and into next week. Folks are finding sunshine both at higher elevations in the Cascades and at the Oregon Coast.

But if the dark of winter still has you down, here's a little something to look forward to:

We "spring forward" to daylight-saving time on Sunday, March 9.

On March 8, the sun sets at 6:10 p.m.

After the time change, sunset on March 9 will be 7:11.

From there, the days keep on getting longer until the summer solstice on June 21.
