$500 reward in elk poaching case
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. -- Oregon State Police are asking for the public to help them with a case involving the killing and wasting of a bull elk southeast of Glide.
Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish & Wildlife Division is asking for the public's help to identify the person or persons responsible shooting and wasting a 5x5 bull elk found in the Thunder Mountain area southeast of Glide.
Authorities say the elk was killed in the last 7-10 days.
A reward of up to $500 is being offered by the Oregon Hunters Association Turn-in-Poacher program for information in this case.
Officials say the elk was found off Thunder Mountain Road about three miles east of Peel County Store in a recently logged clear cut owned by a logging company.
