Two women were stabbed by another woman during an altercation in a parking lot outside of the AMC Theaters in Courthouse on Saturday night, Arlington County Police report.

The two victims were transported to the hospital with multiple stab wounds, police say.

According to police, the suspect, later identified as Sharon E. Uwandu, 37, has been arrested.

Police have not confirmed whether Uwandu knew the two women stabbed.

According to police, citizens on the scene stepped in to help.

"It appears to us that there was one individual who I have not identified yet, but the officers do have, who actually made a flying tackle and fortunately he only had to hold that individual for a very short time," said Daniel Murray, Deputy Chief of Police with Arlington County Police Department.

Police say Uwandu's arrest was quickly made. They administered first aid to the victims as soon as they arrived on scene.

She has been charged with two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, a Class 2 felony, and is being held without bound at the Arlington County Detention Center.

According to police, both victims are expected to survive.
