Winston parade draws hundreds to downtown
WINSTON, Ore. -- There were plenty of patriotic celebrations all over Douglas County on Wednesday, one of them kicking off with a parade in Winston.
The parade started at Harrison's Hardware and continued on through town, ending at Riverbend Park.
The Wildlife Safari's Cheetah ambassadors Mchumba and Khayam were the parade's grand Marshall's.
The fire trucks led the way for the rest of the procession, and people in the parade threw candy out to little ones in the audience, who lined both sides of the street.
Over at Riverbend, there was live music, food and a Freedom Wheels car show.
The day was topped off with a firework show.
