Winston man arrested for alleged child sex abuse
WINSTON, Ore. -- A 43-year-old Winston man is behind bars, after authorities say an investigation revealed the man had allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with a young girl.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says the mother of a 13-year-old girl contacted them on Monday, alleging that Daniel Lee Magness, 43, of Winston, had been inappropriately touching her daughter.
Authorities say the mother reported the incidents happening over the last two years, and that Magness and the girl were known to each other.
Sheriff's detectives began an investigation, and Magness was arrested Tuesday morning.
Magness was lodged in the Douglas County Jail and charged by detectives with first degree sexual abuse.
His bail is set at $500,000.
