Wilderville woman charged with shooting husband in the leg

WIlDERVILLE, Ore. -- A woman is behind bars on an assault charges after police arrived at her Wilderville home Saturday night to find her husband with a gunshot wound in his leg.

State Police officials said 35-year-old Bethanie Jones allegedly shot her husband Darick Jones, also 35.

Officers were called out to the couple's home off of Highway 199 at 9:50 p.m. Saturday after getting a 9-1-1 call about a shooting.

Police said Bethanie was detained at the scene while medical responders took Darick to the hospital to treat the non-life threatening gunshot wound.

After a brief investigation detectives arrested Bethanie Jones, who was booked at the Josephine County Jail on 1st-degree assault and four counts of recklessly endangering another person.
