Weekend events to benefit Roseburg mom fighting cancer
ROSEBURG, Ore. - If you feel like spending a night out or a morning outdoors, you can do both while also giving back.
Elissa Bogardus is a young Roseburg mother battling cancer.
Bogardus isn't alone in her fight, however; she's the leader of an army.
A group of supporters calling themselves Elissa's Army has organized a weekend of events benefitting Bogardus.
On Saturday, organizers have set up a night of dinner, dancing and live music at the Elk's lodge in Roseburg.
The evening kicks off at 6 p.m., with performers Junior Raimey and Jesse Goergen set to perform.
If a night out isn't up your alley, the group is also offering a 5k on Sunday.
That will kick off at Whistler's Bend park with registration at 9:00 AM and the race at 11.
Tickets for either are $35 apiece, with proceeds going to help Bogardus in her battle.
