Sweet Cheeks Winery to donate portion of sales to California wineries
EUGENE, Ore. - Sweet Cheeks Winery is making an effort to help California wineries affected by the wildfires.
For the next week, a portion of their sales will go to Napa Valley and Sonoma County relief funds.
The General Manager at Sweet Cheeks says the wine business is one big community, and that they have family, friends and even former employees who now work in Northern California.
Some of the wineries in the area lost vines and equipment, and it can take years to rebuild from that kind of devastation.
"There are wineries who lost part of their vineyard, that's going to cost them thousands of dollars," said Jessica Thomas, the General Manager at Sweet Cheeks . "Not only that, their staff lost their homes, and they're going back to hoping to see something still standing, and that's really devastating to hear."
Sweet Cheeks is not yet sure how much money they'll raise, but they just want to help the communities rebuild and come back even stronger.
