ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Umpqua Valley Mounted Posse recently presented Roseburg Police Chief Jim Burge with a $2,000 check for the Roseburg Police K9 program.

The Roseburg Police Department's K9 program originated in 2011.

Since the inception of the Patrol K9 program, the K9 team has had 249 successful deployments which led to 250 felony arrests and 185 misdemeanor arrests, and the location of missing/endangered people and evidence that linked suspects to crimes.

Successful deployments from the Roseburg Narcotics K9 have led to the seizure of multiple pounds of illegal drugs.
