'Stringfever' performs Friday evening at UCC
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A group of men are heading down the west coast playing tunes you might recognize in an unfamiliar way.
The British quartet group Stringfever features four men from the same family traveling the globe playing string instruments with a little twist -- they're all electric, with some live beat-boxing as well.
Friday night (April 29) they're bringing their act to Roseburg.
"We saw someone playing one of these things sitting on top of a unicycle in the middle of the street," says Stringfever violectra violinist Ralph Broadbent. "(It was) a bright red one; it was six-string one. And we were kind of blown away like most people are when they see something like this. We'd always wanted an electric violin; we'd been drawn towards that."
Stringfever will be at Jacoby Auditorium on the Umpqua Community College campus.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $20 for individuals, $15 for seniors, $5 for students and $40 for families.
