Stop and smell the flowers: Wildflower Festival at Mount Pisgah

Thousands stopped to admire this year’s bloom at the Wildflower Festival at Mount Pisgah Arboretum on Sunday.

LANE COUNTY, Ore. — The sun is out and that means so are the wildflowers in Lane County.

Thousands stopped to admire this year’s bloom at the Wildflower Festival at Mount Pisgah Arboretum on Sunday.

The annual event celebrates both native and exotic plants.

There were nearly 400 different species of wildflowers on display, as well as guided nature walks, scattered art made from nature and a kids booth with nature crafts.

“We feel like the more people learning about and engaged with the natural world, the more they'll honor and preserve for future generations,” Brad Vanappel with Mount Pisgah says. “And, so we're all about bringing people out and engaging them with nature.”

Proceeds from the festival will go towards habitat restoration and environmental education at Mount Pisgah.
