State police: Accident sends woman, log truck driver to hospital

SUTHERLIN, Ore. -- An accident on Interstate 5 Tuesday morning tied up traffic near Sutherlin.

Oregon State Police say just before 11:00 am, a red Jeep traveling southbound in the left lane near milepost 135 either lost control or had a mechanical issue.

Troopers at the scene said the Jeep side swiped a log truck that was traveling in the right lane.

Both the female driving the Jeep and the log truck driver were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The left lane of I-5 was closed while authorities investigated the crash.
