Small Business Development Center in Roseburg helps businesses succeed
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- People having trouble with their small business can find help in the Roseburg area.
"Is that the numbers you're missing? I mean, it just lined up perfectly, and that's when I knew that there's way more to this than meets the eye," says Tim Allen of Tim Allen Equipment in Roseburg.
Allen had trouble paying the bills when he started Tim Allen Equipment 14 years ago.
"I've done my homework, I thought, to figure out what I needed to do."
But it wasn't until he reached out to someone at the Small Business Development Center in Roseburg that he got the help he needed.
"Not only money resources, but mentoring,” says Debbie Caterson with the Small Business Development Center. “Mentoring is huge. Nobody does this by themselves."
Allen was also involved in the Small Business Development Class at Umpqua Community College.
He learned about marketing, accounting, and insurance for his business.
"To go from working out of a garage in 2003 to where we're at now is a lot of growth,” Allen says, “and I don't think we'd be anywhere near that amount of growth had I not taken the class."
Tim Allen Equipment has now expanded to a second location in Myrtle Creek.
For anyone starting a new business or seeking help for their business, the Small Business Development Center is there to help.
