Sheriff: Man hit by pickup truck found 'conscious and breathing, but highly intoxicated'
ROGUE RIVER, Ore. – An intoxicated Rogue River man jumped in front of a car driven by a 16-year-old boy Monday night, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office said.
Daniel Lee Allen Warner, 34, was walking in the middle of the 8100 block of East Evans Creek Road before the crash at 10:26 p.m., according to witness accounts given to the sheriff's office.
Warner jumped in front of a 2006 Nissan Titan pickup, the sheriff's office said.
The impact sent Warner flying 100 feet.
"Deputies found Warner to be conscious and breathing, but highly intoxicated," the sheriff's office said.
Medics took Warner to the hospital. The sheriff said he was in stable condition Tuesday morning.
"Deputies say the driver is cooperating with the investigation; no criminal charges against the driver are expected," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "The case will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office to review for a charge of disorderly conduct against Warner."
The crash investigation closed East Evans Creek Road for two hours.
