Sheriff: Man caught after weekend manhunt, 3 arrested
GLIDE, Ore. -- Three people are in bars after a weekend burglary in Glide that led to an hours-long manhunt, the Sheriff's office said.
Deputies say it started on Saturday just after 11:30 am, when a resident in the 200 block of Wiesen Road in Glide noticed people at a residence where the owner was away in China.
The neighbor called the caretaker of the property and authorities responded to the home.
Deputies say that when they arrived, they arrested Santino Mario Sandoval, 32, of Grants Pass, and Jessica Lynn Shepp, 29, of Glide.
Officials say the home had been burglarized, and some guns had been stolen from a gun safe.
Deputies say the neighbors noticed a third person fleeing from the scene, who was found by deputies in the 1000 block of Little River Road at around 5:30 pm.
Authorities say when they tried to take Anthony Dominic Whiley, 24, of Glide, into custody, he resisted authorities and was able to flee into the woods.
A Roseburg K-9 was brought in to help search and Whiley was found several hours later at a residence on Brown Street in Glide.
Deputies say they found 3 loaded handguns on Little River Road where Whiley had fled.
Officials say all three of the suspects were charged by the Sheriff's office with first degree burglary.
Whiley was additionally charged with first degree theft, being a felon in possession of a firearm and resisting arrest, among other charges.
